Day #30
Quitting isn’t an option…
Today is the last day of Parkinson’s Awareness Month, but for those of us living with it it’s just another day… Our symptoms continue to march on. Many are taking medications in an attempt to mitigate symptoms. Some are contemplating DBS Surgery or Focused Ultrasound looking for relief and a better quality of life. Some are looking into alternative treatments…
Whatever avenue you choose to explore, my advice is to never give up!
There are new advances and great strides being made every day in the treatment and towards, dare I say, a cure…
I had DBS surgery three plus years ago and the difference is amazing! When I was first diagnosed it was not an option…
Brilliant minds are at work attempting to unlock why certain proteins in the brain mutate into clumps causing not only Parkinson’s Disease but ALS, Alzheimer’s and many other neurological disorders.
Staying positive and upbeat while living with any chronic illness is a challenge but it’s not impossible! Volunteering and giving back to those in our community who are struggling is a great way to put things in perspective…
I hope you have enjoyed the last thirty days of posts and that you have learned a little more not only about Parkinson’s but about yourself…
